Percettiva · Sound as Storytelling 2026 · Extra Module

Writing, directing
and producing by ear

Sound is not a technical phase that arrives after the image. It's a narrative tool that begins with the writing and runs through everything that follows. An intensive two-day module with Lorenzo d'Amico De Carvalho and Anne-Riitta Ciccone.

3–4 October 2026
Percettiva Residency, Sardinia
€300 — all inclusive
€150 · MC1 or MC2 participants

The module

Sound as a point of view
in the construction of a film.

Sound is often perceived as something that arrives once the work is already done — in post-production, when the images are edited and the story is locked. In reality, the most important sound decisions are made much earlier: in the writing, in the choice of locations, in the construction of characters, in the rhythm of scenes.

Lorenzo d'Amico De Carvalho and Anne-Riitta Ciccone will guide participants to work with sound as a narrative dimension already present in the screenplay — a perspective that changes the way scenes are written, characters are built and a film is designed from the inside out.

The module is open to directors, screenwriters, producers and any professional who wants to integrate sound thinking into their own creative and production process. Priority access and a 50% reduced fee for scholarship recipients and for MC1 or MC2 participants.
